Could they be dead????????

hey! my friends grandparents who i think of my own grandparents live in tokyo Japan. and we have tried calling and calling and calling and they never pick up! we have been calling since 3:00 PM and now it is 11:00pm. and my friend is cryin her eyes out and so am i. they were very close to me even tho they arent my grandparents, they treated me like i was thier granddaughter. anyway, 8.9 earthquake and a tsunami. can it get any worse? do you think they have drowned? or have gone to safty? please help i am soo worried about them!
