my friends have taken up kick boxing and i think i'd really enjoy it. i'm sixteen years old. my dad said no immedietly that it wont be safe. i know he used to do judo though. is kickboxing really all that dangerous or is it pretty safe?

Ski/snowboard gear question?

I have an oakley jacket that i got on sale and i relized that the second layer that zips into the jacket isn't the right size (probably why it was so cheap) I can still wear the inner layer but it doesn't fit close to the skin so its not very warm. I've tried wearing sweatshirts but they're too heavy and I can't move easily. I want a baselayer that goes up to my neck so the wind won't get in especially on the lifts cuz I ski at night. I would say i would get underarmour but its way to expensive and the same with northface and i'm not really sure its worth it since i might want to buy several shirts so i don't have to wear the same one everyday cuz that's kinda gross.

How to get torqued lug nuts out?

Alright so i have a 74 super beetle that i have been working on i went to go do a brake job on it and the lug nuts on the back wheels are completely stuck. I tried using a PB spray, a blow torch and a cheater bar but nothing has worked. I even used the cheater bar and blow torch at the same time. Sold car with street cleaning violations. Still liable to pay?

I sold my car to someone. There was never a release of liability so it was like it never happened. A month gos by and he got 3 parking tickets (street cleaning service & the payment must be made payable to CITY OF LOS ANGELES). They decided they don't want the car so they gave it back. I sold my car again but I still have the three parking tickets. Do I have to pay the tickets? I don't own the car anymore and I don't live in L.A. either (still in California). There's no way that the person that really should pay the tickets will pay them. Will they still show up in my name when I get another car?

Why is my 16 month old constantly sick?

My daughter is 16 months old. At about 6 months she began to get a rash on her arms and legs and cheeks only. The doctor said it was eczema and has since given her 3 different "lotions" that were supposed to help, but nothing helped. She still has it today. Around the same time, she got really sick; runny stuffy nose, cough.. we had to call an ambulance to the house because she stopped breathing at one point. 2 doctors and an emergency room pediatrician told us she was fine, just a cold!! So I took her to a new doc who said she has a sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics that made her better right away. I was so relieved. (Rash never went away still).So since that incident, she seems to be sick constantly. It seems like her nose is never clean of the crusted dark snot, shes always coughing, always runny nose, yellow diarreah, now there is a different rash on her chest, stomach and face. Sometimes she has a low fever. I am told by her doctor that he cannot find any infection, that shes fine. How can she be fine? I am so frustrated, shes also recently had pink eye twice!! I was blessed with very healthy older children, who never got sick barely ever... now I dont know what to do with this one. Does anyone know of anything that could be overlooked?? Other than being congested and annoyed with all of her symptoms, she typically acts fine, she has energy, shes playful, she has a fairly good appetite.. I dont know what to do anymore.

I asked this before, and basically just got flamed by somebody who thought I didn't actually have ADD? 0.o Weird...basically, I need my ADD meds to do well in school because, well, I'm ADD. I can't concentrate on tests-or papers, or notes, or whatever the teacher's saying-because it's like there are too many things to think about. There's the air conditioning in the hallway, the people opening their lockers, papers rustling, Akailah's squeaky chair, my gles and their annoying habit of sliding down my face due to being broken, what's for lunch, what I did last night-I could go on and on. But I don't like how they change me. If I don't think enough off my meds, I think too much on them. There's been a lot of bad stuff going on lately, personal stuff, that I would rather not get into now. I stress out about that, I can't stop thinking about it, and I freak out about grades. Typically I tend to think I'm failing a cl-got straight A's all year, so obviously that wasn't true, but when I'm on my meds I think that. Most of the time when I'm on my meds, I'll spend the whole day worrying and freaking out, trying to remember what I've forgotten. Most of the time I'll ditch lunch early to try and sneak into my locker, to look for something that I might have not done. What's I've checked every possible thing I could have forgotten, I'll stress out more, because it would make sense for me to forget what I've forgotten, but maybe it's something important. Most of the time, I didn't forget anything and just annoy my friends. Also...because of said bad personal things, I've found myself being seriously depressed...all the time? I don't know if my meds caused that or not, but I'm not on my meds today because I forgot and it made such a difference-I felt like I was a different person. It just kinda shocked me, I guess I haven't skipped my meds in too long. And I like it more off my meds-I'm actually *happy* all the time. Weird, eh? But I need them for school, grades are very important my family and I. High school is right around the corner, and colleges look at those grades, and if I want to be a chemical engineer or any type of scientist like my dad I need good grades to get into a good college. So I have to choose...get rid of the weird personality change and watch my grades tank along with it, or just get over it and have good grades? Oh and if it makes a difference, I was diagnosed when I was around six or seven, and my littlest brother, who just turned eight, just got diagnosed-apparently it can be genetic, who knew?- but my parents are hesitant about putting him on meds, even though he literally is failing. I switch my meds up a lot, so switching them wouldn't be a big deal if any of y'all have suggestions-I'm on metadate right now.

I have a 1992 Prelude Si. I have aftermarket 16" rims on it with 205/40/16 low profile tires. The car is lowered right now (too low for comfort) so I plan to raise it back to factory height and with the low profile tires it'll look pretty stupid. If you want to try and save the friendship be honest with him. The last time I got the "it's not you, it's me/I'm just not ready for a relationship right now" line, I was disappointed, but understanding, and we stayed on friendly terms. I would definitely recommend that you be up front with the instructor if you're thinking about unofficially "auditing" - the actual college-y word for what you want to do - cles that are even the size of your friend's psychology cl, let alone smaller ones. If you want to participate actively, I would talk to the instructor first regardless of cl size. I worked with university faculty for over 20 years and I can tell that there is, if anything, even more variation in personality and attitude and behavior among them than in the non-teaching public. 9 out of 10 would have no problem with what you're suggesting; you just don't want to cross that 10th one's path...

Hi. I am using my older brothers profile to ask thi, lol. Anyways, I am a little lost in life. I am 17, and have considered the Marine Corps for a while now. Problem is, I am generally a failure in school. I have the credit requirements to be a Senior next year, but I haven't received a grade higher than a C in 4 years. I routinely pull off 1.666-0.833 GPA's and I don't even think I have the overall 2.0 GPA requirement to graduate. I have no college ambitions. Not even at the community level. I am a tad bit out of shape, but I can fix that. I (hopefully) graduate in 2011. I have always wanted to join the Marine Corps, but now the recruiter has been telling me about the DEP and all that jazz. I haven't taken the ASVAB, and suck horribly at math. I want to join the Marines, but is it the right move? My parents refuse to co-sign the contract, so I have a while to think about it. I live in San Diego (a few blocks from MCRD), so "homesickness" would not be an issue. Once I take that oath, there is no turning back. My recruiter (like most of them) wants me to join as early as possible. Once I take that oath, there is no going back. Is the Marine Corps the right move?

Need some help with Autism or PDD?

Im not sure if you will be able to help me or not. I don't know any other people with children that have autism or PDD. I guess I can start with my first concerns with my son.(who is turning 8 soon)When he was about 11 months old I asked his Dr. if him not talking and having odd behaviors was normal,(playing in the corner with strings on the carpet, and rocks etc..) he told me that he may need speech and sent me to a neurologist for speech. They told me he needed speech therapy and said he was delayed only in speech. He was at a 6 month delay. I still felt like something was being missed so I told the Dr. every time i went in that i felt like something was wrong and i kept being told that because he was a preemie it was ok.And not to mention that he was sick all the time with something!! He did speech until he was 3 and now talks better then me sometimes. He was still having the odd behaviors and was not potty trained at 4 years old. Still being told this was "normal" and kids are all different and he will go when he fells the need, don't push it. When he was in 1st grade the teacher was concerned about him paying attention so i took him back to the Dr. and they put him on focalin this cause ticks and i took him off and they put him on the daytrana patch..it was like a drug overdose..he was a zombie but the teacher was so happy that she didn't have to deal with my son acting up in cl..i took him off this and he is now on adarol witch only seems to calm him for the first hour...I told his Dr. he was still having some "weirdness" in his behaviors and acted like he had no since of time or common sense. I guess he was tired of hearing me so he sent us back to the same neurologist he had seen when he was a year old. As soon as they seen it in his chart he was diagnosed as ADHD they stop at that and said that was the problem and said to keep him on meds. Well he has ben on meds and they don't seem to be working..My point to them is if a child has a problem and you are only looking at one thing and not the others how is that going to help? I called and demanded a full psychological evaluation and when I arrived I was told they were doing an IQ test..I was blown away. So his IQ was 115 and Im glad to know that but I still don't know why they didn't do the psychological evaluation. Every time I say something to them they tell me he does not show any signs of autism because he can follow direction and make eye contact and stay in his seat with out the flapping and noise making. I know in my gut that something is and has been going on with my son..And please know that it was noted in his medical chart 3 times that there was the possibility of autism or PDD, that I had no idea about until a few months ago..why would the Dr. not tell me this but have it noted in his chart? Needless to say I am taking him back to the neurologist next week and if they don't listen to me and do a full test on him for any kind of delays or disability i will be going somewhere else. I know this is as long as a book and i hope you can kinda give me your opinion and some guidance with this.
