Games for Windows LIVE for PC help?

I just bought and downloaded Kane and Lynch for PC but i'm having one problem... I cant get this thing to work online... I sign in with my account i made a long time ago and then i click on to connect to a online game and i keep getting this message.... "You are not logged into Games for Windows - LIVE" wait.. i thought just logging when it did it automaticly
