How do I become a boxing promoter?

Looking for specific detail on how to go about becoming a boxing promoter. I love, love, love the sport of boxing and since I don't want to get punched in the face, have decided to go a different route. Would like to help bring integrity back to the sport. Note, I live in the KC metro area. Not sure if that's relevant.
